12 secrets your car insurer won't tell you

Getting a good deal on auto insurance is hard enough. Keeping your premiums from rising? That can feel like playing a game where the rule maker refuses to tell you the rules. I found this list of tips to help you save:
  1. If you have good credit, you'll pay less. Tip: If your credit history is shaky, clean it up as soon as you can.
  2. Your car model affects your premium. Tip: Search online for the latest top 10 lists on the most expensive cars to insure, and the least.
  3. Pay in full to avoid installment fees. Tip: Ask about fees for paying in installments.
  4. That Pearl Jam CD in your car isn't covered. Tip: It's wise to take photos or video of any expensive personal items before they go missing.
  5. You'll pay for your bad driving. Tip: Ask your company if it has a forgiveness policy and how to qualify.
  6. You'll pay for your friend's bad driving, too. Tip: Don't lend out your car.
  7. The value of your "totaled" car may surprise you.
  8. Check into "diminished value."
  9. You may not owe sales tax on your replacement car.
  10. Hit by an uninsured motorist? Try to "stack."
  11. You can wait to add your teenager to your policy until he or she is licensed.
  12. You must officially cancel your insurance policy when you switch insurers.

Differences between Debt and Equity

I found this article that can help you to understand difference between Debt and Equity.

Debt Equity
Must be repaid or refinanced. Can usually be kept permanently.
Requires regular interest payments. Company must generate cash flow to pay. No payment requirements. May receive dividends, but only out of retained earnings.
Collateral assets must usually be available. No collateral required.
Debt providers are conservative. They cannot share any upside or profits. Therefore, they want to eliminate all possible loss or downside risks. Equity providers are aggressive. They can accept downside risks because they fully share the upside as well.
Interest payments are tax deductible. Dividend payments are not tax deductible.
Debt has little or no impact on control of the company. Equity requires shared control of the company and may impose restrictions.
Debt allows leverage of company profits. Shareholders share the company profits.

The 2007 rush for H-1B guest worker visas has begun

April 1 marked the start date for technology companies to seek permission from the U.S. government to hire temporary foreign employees under the visa program, which permits up to 65,000 H-1Bs to be issued this year. Exceptions, however, allow that number to be exceeded.
The H-1B program allows foreigners with at least a bachelor's degree in their area of specialty to be employed in the United States for up to six years. They're currently capped at 65,000 visas per year, with an additional 20,000 visas set aside for foreigners with advanced degrees, after peaking at 195,000 between 2001 and 2003.
